About Us

The mission of the Public Policy Graduate Student Association (PPGSA) is to organize informal gatherings and several other activities that promote academic, professional and civic development among public policy students and those interested in public policy issues- especially activities that complement the existing educational infrastructure at UMBC.

The public policy program includes a wide variety of students from diverse backgrounds and experiences including:

* Aging Issues

* Health Care

* Economics

* Political science

* Sociology

* Urban/Environmental planning

* Education

* Law

* Public Management

One on-going activity sponsored by the PPGSA are the Tips in Public Policy Studies (TIPPS) meetings.  These meetings bring faculty and students together for informal, student-guided conversations focused on the pragmatics of surviving and excelling in graduate school and beyond.
